What are the shopping hours for Trade Days in the Original First Monday Park?

The Original First Monday Park is open to shoppers from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday of every month. Some vendors remain open until dark during spring and summer months. Trade Days take place every month, regardless of the weather.

Is there an admission fee to the Original First Monday Park?

No. Admission is free. 

Where can I find parking for the Original First Monday Park?

City of Canton parking is available for the Original First Monday Park at a cost of $4 per vehicle at the following locations:

* West Gate Entrance on FM 859 (Exit 526 off I-20). Buses should use West Gate Entrance.

* Near the Civic Center on Flea Market Road off SH 64. 

* VIP parking is available at the Main Gate on Groves Street for $10 per day.

* Reserved parking is available by the Main Gate on Groves Street for $10/$20 for the weekend in the Hill Parking area.

* Reserved parking is also available by the Civic Center in the On-Grounds Parking area $10.

Additional parking is available on SH 19 and in the downtown area on Groves Street for about $5 per vehicle. 
 

Tour groups are welcome and encouraged to contact the Log Cabin Office prior to their trip at (903) 567-6556.
 

Are there ATMs in the Original First Monday Park?

The reserved RV area is located on Flea Market Road off Hwy. 64 West (by the Canton Civic Center). These sites are pull-through with full hook-ups

Reservations may be made one month in advance beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday following First Monday weekend. Call (903) 567-6556 to reserve.

There is a three-night minimum on advance reservations. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable and must be received in full by Friday, one week before the sale.

These sites may be renewed for the following month if paid before 6 p.m. the Sunday of the sale.

Unreserved RV areas are located inside the West Gate entrance off FM 859. These operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Full hook-ups are north (in front) of the log cabin. Please go to the Log Cabin office for assignment and payment of space prior to hooking up. Water/electric hook-ups are south (behind) the Log Cabin.  For these specific spaces only, find an available space and hook up.  Then you will specify the space number at the Log Cabin window and make your payment at that time.

A dump station is located at the Flea Market Road entrance to the RV Park. Vacant RV sites may also be used as temporary dump stations. Honeywagon service is available through AAA Sanitation 903-593-5909 or 800-919-5909.

Do I need a sales tax ID number?

Yes. State law requires that each vendor apply for a Texas state sales tax ID number. There is no charge for the number. Applications are available at the Log Cabin and the Main Gate or through the Texas State Comptroller online.

How do I reserve vendor space?

Lots are rented on a monthly basis. Reservations are accepted beginning on the second Tuesday (Super Tuesday) after First Monday. Open lots may be reserved in person beginning at 8 a.m. or by phone at (903) 567-6556 after 1 p.m. at the Log Cabin. The deadline for advance reservations is Friday, one week before the sale. Lots are also available the week of First Monday and during First Monday weekend at the Log Cabin or Main Gate offices. 

All vendors need a state sales tax ID number.
 

How do I renew vendor space?

Current vendors have until Friday after the sale to renew their lots for the following month.

Vendors must show current receipt and valid ID when renewing. Payments for the next month may be made during the sale at the following locations:

Main Gate Office (Groves Street at Capitol): Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

West Gate Office (Log Cabin off FM 859): Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After office hours, use the night drop at City Hall, 290 E. Tyler, or mail payments to PO Box 665, Canton, TX 75103. The only office open during the month is the Log Cabin at the West Gate entrance. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

How do I obtain an adjoining lot?

Current vendors who wants to add an adjoining lot, should call (903) 567-6556 after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, one week after the sale, to see if it is available. ONLY available lots ADJOINING those already in the vendor's name will be rented on this date.

What about utilities?

Water and electric hook-ups are available within 100 feet of each space. Vendors provide their own hoses and extension cords (12/3 only). Utilities are included in the lot rental rate. Standard 20 amp service is available. There is a one-time installation charge of $100 for 30 or 50 amp service,  if approved.

Cable TV hook-ups are $8. East Texas Cable collects from users who connect.

Open air lots with climate-controlled lodging are charged a $20 flat fee for the weekend.

What are the rates on open air lots?

Open air lots, approximately 12' x 20' are available for $50. The cost covers selling from Thursday to Sunday. No discounts are given for selling for only one or two days. No application is necessary for outdoor lots.
 

What are the rates in the Unreserved Area?

The unreserved vendor lot is at the West Gate (off FM 859). The gate opens at 11 a.m. Wednesday for the First Monday weekend. Lots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Vendors will be allowed on the grounds at 9 a.m. on Monday, the week of the sale, to line up in the holding area. There is a $5.00 per night electrical charge to hook up in the holding area. Payments (cash or credit cardonly) are to be made at the Log Cabin office upon arrival. Unreserved lots are the same size and cost as reserved lots and must be paid prior to entering gate. Pass and receipt must be visible at all times in any vehicle entering or parked on the grounds.

 What are the rates and amenities in the Civic Center?

Civic Center vending is reserved for antiques and collectibles only. Sales items must be 20 years old or older.

The Civic Center, which has air conditioning and heating, has 153 available spaces. Restroom and concession facilities are available inside the facility. Table and chairs may be rented. Parking for vendors is free. A flat fee for electricity for parking on fence is $40.

What about Food Concessions?

Food concession lots are required for any food item sold for immediate consumption. All food items must be sold from a food concession which meets the standards set by the Texas Department of Health. Health Department permits may be acquired through the City of Canton offices. No new applicants are currently being accepted to the waiting list for food lots. Food concession lots are approximately 12' x 20'. Rental rates are $200 for the food lot, with each additional adjacent lot $50. Health permit and 10 lb. ABC Fire Extinguisher are required.

Trailers may be set up Tuesday @ 12:00 noon.

What are the rules for check out?

All vendors must vacate the park by 8 a.m. Tuesday following the sale. Anyone remaining will be charged $25 per day. Unattended vehicles or trailers will be impounded at the owner's expense. All trash should be bagged and stacked next to the street prior to departure. Vendors in structures must sweep their areas clean of all debris.
