The City of Canton's First Monday Staff

offer these tips to make your

shopping experience more enjoyable

Download a Map of the Original First Monday Park.

  • A vendor-issued Gate Pass allows the customer to drive a vehicle into the Park to load furniture or other heavy items.

  • With more than 100 acres of shopping in the Original Park, choose a meeting place in case your party becomes separated and cell phones don't work.

  • Bring cash. While credit cards and checks are accepted by most indoor vendors, many outdoor vendors only accept cash. There are ATM's located throughout the Original First Monday Park.

  • Buy it when you first see it -- you might not be able to find your way back later.

  • Note a landmark near the location where you park in case you need help getting back to your vehicle. Handicapped parking is available at the Main Gate and Log Cabin entrances.

  • Scooters, wagons, shopping carts (and sometimes wheelchairs) are available for rent near each of the main entrances.

  • Water and food are available for purchase in the park. Picnic areas are also available.

  • First Monday Offices are only allowed to page for lost children and medical emergencies.

  • Maps for the Original First Monday Park are available at the Main Gate and Log Cabin offices, and at the Information Booth in Trade Center IV.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Layer clothing. Wear hat or sun visor, and comfortable shoes. Flip-flops and dress shoes are not recommended.

  • Protect children from sun and heat.

  • Be sure to get the contact information for any vendor you purchase from. You never know when you might need to contact them in the future. Get a name and phone number, and keep your receipt.
